In Troop 291 we make the most of our trips. In addition to traditional scouting adventures, we plan ahead for experinces of a lifetime. Visiting cities, flight lessons, and survivor challenge weekends are just a few of the trips we have taken in the past year.

June, 2026
Yet again, we went on a whitewater rafting trip at Whitewater Challengers, which was a total blast! It was a day were scouts were. invited like last time, which means lots of scouts from different troops were on other boats having a water fight with us! It was so fun we may do it again next year!

While resting at camp, we got loads of rank advancement done, we even went on an orienteering coarse in the afternoon, and had so much fun telling stories at the campfire! On Sunday, we went to Medieval Times in New Jersey, and watched the entire show, and it was very entertaining!
January, 2026
Troop 291 visited Washington DC for Dr. Matrin Luther King weekend. The weather held out and we were able to visit the monuments and memorials at the National Mall, The Capital Building, multiple museums and Arlington Cemetary where we participated in a wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
December, 2025
We had an amazing Court of Honor, with lots of awards and lots of attendies, we certainly had a good time! the Senior Patrol gave the Scouts their awards that they earned since the last Court of Honor, like rank badges, merit badges from camp, and more! We are very thankful for everyone who helped make this night amazing!
November, 2025
The troop visited Ellenville airport for flight lessons with Kate and the team from Fly with Kate! As part of the aviation merit badge, the scouts learned about the design of the aircraft, maintenace steps and airport safety. Each of the scouts had an opportunity to take flight as a passenger and a Pilot!
October 2025
The beach cleanup was a big success, even though there was a small amount of volunteres with the troop. When we got there, we realized that the beach was already really clean, so we decided to clean a nearby park. Thank you to everyone who came to clean up the outdoors!

The troop got to go to Pennsylvania and go inside of the Eastern State Penitentiary this October. In the day time, we got a great tour of the penitentiary. And at night, we got to go through the same jail but it had a haunted house inside of it. We had so much fun!

With help from lots of leaders, we had one of our best trips ever, a Survivor themed weekend! We did all sorts of competions, like canoeing, a scavenger hunt, painting a flag, and loads more! We even had to make our own shelters with a limited supply of ropes and tarps!

Undoubtably one of the most fun trips we have had in a long time, we got to go to the amazing city of Boston when it was around 20 degrees and had freshly snowed. No way to have more fun then to go on a haunted ghost tour, go to the aquarium, and play mini golf with the rest of the troop!

The troop got to do the Engineering Merit Badge with Harley Davidson, with one regular meeting on it and one Zoom meeting with an employee at Ryco's Escape Room! We had lots of fun talking about motorcycles and other inventions, like a guitar amp and things that are similar that use engineering.

Another great Court of Honor in the books, and everyone there had so much fun! We had Court of Honor at our normal meeting place, Trinity Lutheran, and all of the families of the scouts that help us so much came to watch earn our rewards! Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve these goals!
